
NORTHSTAR VEHICLES LIMITED
RENTAL AGREEMENT TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The following Terms and Conditions apply to the rental vehicle and for the period of rental as defined on this agreement / schedule. At the time of delivery an authorised signature of the Customer will be required accepting the following Terms and Conditions.
1. INSURANCE & O LICENCE
Without prejudice to the liability of the Customer the Customer will insure the Vehicle throughout the Period of Hire up until redelivery to or to the order of Northstar with an insurer acceptable to Northstar on a fully comprehensive basis (or on such other terms as may be agreed in writing by Northstar) at its own expense for not less than the Vehicle’s full replacement cost against all insurable risks including but not limited to fire, theft, loss, damage or destruction. The Customer will also insure itself and any authorised driver and/or operator against any claims for death, injury, loss or damage in any way relating to the Vehicle or its use or operation or otherwise. It is the responsibility of the Customer to notify the insurers of Northstar’s interest in the Vehicle. The Customer will supply to Northstar a copy of their O Licence which Northstar will keep on file. Furthermore upon expiry of either the Customers insurance or O licence a copy of the renewed document must be sent to Northstar.
2. SERVICING AND MAINTENANCE
The Vehicle must be maintained in line with the Customers O licence requirements and those of the Vehicle manufacturer in respect of servicing and repairs. The Customer should contact his nearest dealer to book the vehicle in for such work. The Customer is responsible for the daily driver checks including but not limited to tyre pressures, wheel nut torques, oil and water levels.
3. CUSTOMER SERVICE
In the event of a breakdown requiring roadside assistance please contact service 24hr on 0800 800644 quoting the Vehicle registration number and the home dealer as Bell Truck Sales.
4. RENTALS AND PAYMENT
The Customer will pay in full and without deduction by direct debit or by other means acceptable to Northstar and without prior demand on the due dates all Rentals as specified in this Schedule and any other sums payable under this Agreement or any Rental Agreement. All such Rentals and other sums are quoted exclusive of VAT. The Customer will where agreed and at the request of Northstar complete and validly execute a direct debit mandate in favour of Northstar in the form supplied by Northstar in order to give effect to the payment.
5. VEHICLE ALTERATIONS
The Customer will not make any alterations or additions to the Vehicle without Northstar’s prior written consent.
6. RETURN CONDITIONS
Upon it’s return the Vehicle is subject to a condition inspection, the Vehicle must be free from accidental or deliberate damage, all glass to be intact and the vehicle the same colour, Northstar reserve the right to recharge the Customer for any such damage which is in addition to that noted on the Schedule at the time of delivery or collection.
7. NORTH STAR’s OBLIGATIONS
In order to provide Maintenance Services Northstar shall be entitled to remove any Vehicle and to keep it for such period or periods as is necessary in the opinion of Northstar for it to carry out its obligations in that regard.
8. FIXED PENALTY NOTICES
All fixed penalty notices, parking fines, speeding fines incurred during the period of hire are the sole responsibility of the Customer, failure to settle fines at the time of imposition will result in additional administration charges. In addition no congestion charges for London has or will be paid in respect of the Vehicle.
9. TERMINATION OF AGREEMENT
No termination of this agreement shall affect any liability arising before such termination of this agreement, this agreement will terminate on any one of the following events, the expiry of the rental period, either party giving notice, or breach of these terms and conditions, if the Customer being an individual, partnership or unincorporated body becomes bankrupt or has a receiving order made against him or her or enters into any voluntary agreement with its creditors or being a limited company has a winding up order presented against it or passes a resolution for voluntary winding up.
10. RIGHT OF INSPECTION
The Customer shall allow Northstar, its servants or agents inspect the vehicle at any time and give reasonable access to it during the rental period.
